Privacy Policy

Your body data is yours. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and what we never do with it.

This Privacy Policy explains how Lightspeed Analytics Labs, LLC ("Lightspeed," "we," "us") handles personal information in connection with the BiteBop mobile application and related services (the "Service"). We built BiteBop to be an honest instrument — and that starts with being honest about your data.

The short version. We collect the minimum needed to plan your meals and forecast your progress. We do not sell your personal information. We never use your health or body data for advertising. You can export or delete your data at any time from within the app.

1. Who we are

BiteBop is owned and operated by Lightspeed Analytics Labs, LLC, based in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, United States. For any privacy question, contact us at chandan.mishra@tableturnr.com. We are the data controller for the information described here.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account information. When you sign in with Apple, we receive an Apple-provided identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and a relay email address. We do not receive your Apple password.
  • Body metrics and goals. Sex, date of birth (used to confirm you are 18+ and to calculate energy needs), height, weight and weigh-ins, activity level, and your target weight and date.
  • Food preferences. Dietary patterns, allergies, dislikes, foods you love, household size, budget, and time available to cook.
  • Activity in the app. Meals logged, plans generated, recipes saved, and shopping lists created.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and diagnostic data. App version, device model, operating system, and crash and performance logs, used to keep the app working.
  • Limited usage analytics. Aggregated, event-level information about how features are used, to improve the Service. Where required, this is enabled only with your consent.

Information from Apple Health (optional)

If you choose to connect Apple Health, we read only the specific data types you authorize (such as weight or active energy) to improve your forecast. You control this in the Health app and can revoke it at any time. See the Health data section below.

3. Health and body data — special protections

Health data is never used for advertising, and never sold or shared with data brokers or advertising networks. Data obtained from Apple Health is kept isolated from any marketing or advertising function, consistent with Apple's HealthKit requirements. We use your body metrics for one purpose only: to generate your meal plans and weight forecast, and to power features you can see inside the app.

We treat body metrics, weigh-ins, and health-related preferences as sensitive personal information and apply heightened protection to them.

4. How we use your information

  • To create your personalized meal plans and calculate your calorie and macro targets.
  • To compute your weight forecast, adaptive energy expenditure, and progress.
  • To build your grocery list and hand it off to Instacart when you choose to.
  • To operate, secure, debug, and improve the Service.
  • To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

We do not use your personal information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell it.

5. Who we share information with

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the Service, and only as needed:

  • Apple — Sign in with Apple for authentication, and (if you enable it) Apple Health. Governed by Apple's privacy policy.
  • Cloud backend provider (Supabase). Hosts your account and app data securely, protected by row-level access controls so you can only reach your own records.
  • Meal-plan generation (Anthropic). To generate recipe plans, we send de-identified inputs such as your dietary preferences, targets, and constraints to an AI model provider. We do not send your name or contact details for this purpose, and generated recipes are validated against nutrition data before they reach you.
  • USDA FoodData Central. We query this public U.S. government nutrition database to validate recipe nutrition. These queries are about ingredients, not about you.
  • Instacart. When you tap to build a cart, your ingredient list is passed to Instacart to create an order link. Checkout happens on Instacart under Instacart's own privacy policy. We do not receive your payment details.
  • Subscription management (e.g., Apple / RevenueCat). To process and validate in-app subscriptions. Apple handles your payment; we never see your card number.
  • Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or Lightspeed.

If we ever undergo a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, personal information may be transferred, and we will notify you and honor the commitments in this policy.

Where the GDPR applies, we process personal data on these bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you request), consent (for optional analytics and any Apple Health access, which you can withdraw at any time), legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service), and legal obligation. Health data is processed only with your explicit consent.

7. Data retention

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal, tax, or security obligations. Aggregated or anonymized data that can no longer identify you may be retained.

8. Your rights and choices

  • Access and export. You can view your data in the app and request a copy.
  • Deletion. You can delete your account and associated data directly in the app, at any time.
  • Correction. You can update your metrics, goals, and preferences whenever you like.
  • Consent controls. You can revoke Apple Health access and analytics consent at any time.
  • Regional rights. Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA, UK, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights, including the right to object to or restrict processing and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. California residents: we do not sell or "share" (as defined by the CPRA) your personal information.

9. How we protect your data

We use encryption in transit and at rest, access controls that restrict each account to its own records, and industry-standard safeguards at our infrastructure providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit what we collect in the first place.

10. Children

BiteBop is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and the app enforces an age gate. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
